Calgary Women in Energy announce the date and the golf course for the 18th annual mixed charity golf tournament.

March 9th, 2020, Calgary, Alberta –

Calgary Women in Energy (CWiE) is proud to announce Willow Park Golf and Country Club will be hosting the 18th Annual Calgary Women in Energy Mixed Charity Golf Tournament on June 25th, 2020.

On June 25th in Calgary, Alberta 144 energy professionals will tee off at the Willow Park Golf and Country Club, one of the premier golf courses in Calgary, in the 18th annual Calgary Women in Energy (CWiE) Mixed Charity Golf Tournament in support of The Children’s Cottage Society.

Calgary Women in Energy is an exclusive, non-profit, oil women’s society which has collectively raised over $500,000 for various selected local charities throughout the Calgary community since 2003. “With the help of an incredible volunteer committee and support from the industry, our annual tournament has been a great success selling out year-after-year. Last year, the tournament raised $50,000 for The Children’s Cottage Society which was then generously matched by Macquarie Group. This year with the community’s support, we have ambitious goals to surpass our contribution in 2019” - says Jana Hackman, CWiE Director of Community Involvement.

Hackman continues, “One of CWiE’s four pillars is to make a positive impact on both our industry and our community through charitable work. This will be our second year supporting The Children’s Cottage Society whose services help protect children and build strong families through support services, respite programs and crisis nurseries. With recent provincial funding cuts, we realize, even more, the positive impact this tournament can have on our community.”

About the Tournament

The format for the tournament is scramble which will include Longest Drive, Hole-in-One, Ball in the Water and Closest-To-The-Pin contests. A light lunch, snacks and beverages will be served on the course. Following the tournament, a dinner, silent auction and awards reception will take place in the clubhouse. More information about the tournament, including online registration and sponsorship can be found on the tournament website https://www.cwie.org/cwie-annual-golf-tournament
